Community Involvement

We love to be involved with the local community. We are very grateful for the support we receive from Emmaus Church; John and Carol come into assemblies and are kindly funding the after-school Street Dance club. Rev Ann Parker from St Peter's Church does an assembly once a week for us too.

Every autumn at Harvest-time our pupils donate food parcels which the older children distribute to the older members of the village (under the carful supervision of ou caretaker, Mrs Hills!) This is always really appreciated by the residents of Severn Beach and we get some lovely thank you letters and cards.

Slimming World has recently started in Severn Beach and every Thursday evening our school hall is filled to capacity - it has been a roaring success so far! If you would like to find out more about the classes, please ring Tiffany on 07790 800001.

We also let out the school hall to Pilning and Severn Beach Parish Council, the Safer Stronger Group and the Severnside Area Forum.

Many residents of Severn Beach have been good friends to the school over the years. One of these was Roger Barr, the husband of our ex-Chair of Governors, Frances. He sadly died recently and asked that, in lieu of flowers at his funeral, donations were made to our school. We received over £450 and we are now the proud owners of a brightly-coloured Buddy Bench, complete with a plaque in his memory, which has really brightened up the playground!
