Pupil Premium

The Government allocates additional funding, called the Pupil Premium, to schools in an effort to address inequalities between low-income families and their peers and is aimed at helping those children flourish in education. Pupil premium funding is allocated to children who are either in receipt of Free School Meals, are Forces children or who are Looked After Children. It is a means of addressing some of the issues associated with social disadvantage and in particular, in narrowing and hopefully eventually closing any gap in attainment where this exists.
